To remove all those hard to clean nooks and crannies I used fitted furniture to house the basin, toilet and bidet which also gave them the storage they needed. The bath has grip handles for when they need help getting in and out of the bath and a handheld shower to rinse it out. Large tiles around the bath and vanity unit and up over the windowsill will also be easy to clean. We re-hung the door to open the other way which made the room look bigger and improved access. I used vinyl on the floor so it would be warmer underfoot, and replaced their old radiator with a large dual fuel towel radiator so they can still dry their towels when the heating is off. New LED ceiling spotlights and a colour scheme of cashmere, pale grey and soft pinks makes the room light and inviting, with the encaustic tile effect patterned vinyl adding a little interest.
These customers were concerned about future mobility and wanted a bathroom that was and easy to clean, had good storage and lighting and simple decor. Their old bathroom had none of this.
