The new kitchen is a modern handleless design with integrated appliances, stone worktops and lots more storage made more accessible by internal pull-outs. But as this is in a Victorian terrace I chose floor and wall tiles that were in keeping with the rest of the house.

As the homeowners had a separate dining room we removed the breakfast bar and moved the understairs access into the living room so that we could put the new fridge/freezer, oven and larder unit on the wall facing the window. The homeowners were initially concerned it would make the room feel narrow but if anything it feels more spacious and they have gained much needed counter and storage space.

This kitchen was definitely due an upgrade. It lacked storage and counter space and was difficult to keep clean because of the detailing on the doors and the open shelves
